The Best Walks and Walking Experiences To Go On.
Walks are a fantastic way to get out in the fresh air and take in the amazing British Countryside. Sometimes, however it can be tricky to organise a walk for yourself, your family or your mates. We’ve selected our favourite organised walks and walking experiences, to take some of the organisation out of your hands.
Special Forces Point to Point 28km Walk.
Starting off with one for the hardcore walkers. This 28km March is inspired by special forces training and involves checkpoints which you have to navigate through yourself. The walk takes place across the stunning, yet challenging Brecon Beacons, and you are rewarded with a medal and a certificate upon completion. The challenge also includes weighted backpacks, (optional), just to add an extra challenge for those who want to really push themselves.
Overnight Arabian Wild Camp Break and Pony Walk.
From one extreme to the other, this is one for those who prefer a lazy amble through the countryside. This experience includes a nice, relaxed walk through the Dorset countryside, with your very own pony to guide you along, and features an overnight stay in a rustic canvas tent, in beautiful woodland settings. The camp also includes cooking equipment, a fire pit and a grill and you will be treated to a traditional ploughman’s lunch on arrival. The experience is led and organised by a friendly and knowledgable local guide.
Gorge Walking in Tyne and Wear.
Back to the extremes, gorge walking is a unique way to explore the countryside, with a bit of extra action chucked in. During this experience you will jump, climb, slide and splash your way down a stunning gorge, all safely guided by an experienced instructor. Along the walk you will encounter natural rock slides, leaps of faith, natural pools and utterly breathtaking waterfalls. This is the perfect day out to rekindle your sense of adventure.
Walking Scotland’s Orkney Islands.
This is the perfect experience if you want an all-in-one package. This fully organised holiday takes place in the absolutely stunning Orkney Islands, home to truly spectacular natural beauty, world-famous archaeological sites and a whole host of birdlife, including dedicated puffin colonies. The 6 night excursion includes accommodation, an expert guide, transport around the islands and meals. This truly is a trip like no other.
